Long Description The Quality Improvement Project Leader will be involved in nursing home activities including feedback and educational efforts related to project management. The primary responsibility includes serving as project leader as assigned by the Quality Improvement Manager. Must be able to travel statewide for meetings, etc. (approximately 40%); some overnight travel required.

Education Must be a Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in the State of Mississippi. BSN a plus, but not required.
Experience Five years nursing experience in nursing home, hospital, and/or medication reconciliation required. MDS assessment and F-tag experience a plus.
Division Must have excellent communication skills for onsite teaching and public speaking at conferences, etc. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Exceptions
Responsibilities • Functions as a project leader as assigned by State Director. • Assists with development of work plans and monitoring progress toward accomplishing work. • Stays current with CMS guidelines and materials related to assigned project. • Employs principles of Continuous Quality Improvement in working with participants. • Has knowledge of the project process as set forth in the Scope of Work and is able to document all areas of project activity. • Provides assistance to participants involved in the project process, i.e., preparing improvement plans, providing educational materials, providing assistance, and/or advice on data collection and measurement for improvement. • Maintains good rapport with participants in order to accomplish the goals of the health care quality improvement program. • Assists in collaborative preparation of internal and external project reports, including reports required by CMS. • Maintains monthly contact with project participants. • Supports and upholds standards and policies of IQH. • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
