Job Title Quality Improvement/HIT Advisor – Behavioral Health

Long Description • Recruit physician office practices and psychiatric facilities, as assigned, for participation in behavioral health quality improvement efforts. •Provide support via training to all assigned physician practice groups and/or all assigned providers/clinics regarding behavioral health screening and referral, HIT adoption, continuous quality improvement efforts, and effective uses of data through on-site visits, regional meetings, scheduled conference calls, webinars, and ad hoc requests for additional involvement. •Facilitate vendor trainings and demonstrations on behavioral health screening tools •Provide input in the design of clinical software and reports. •Participate in the development and feedback of measurement data. •Participate in presentations for feedback, continuous quality improvement (CQI) tools and techniques, software use, and data interpretation. •Work on monthly CMS deliverables for the team. •Participate in national, regional, and team workgroup calls. •Assist the BH Task Manager and other team members with their duties. •Assist in forming and executing a State-wide Psychiatric Care Transitions Learning and Action Network •Work closely with external team consultants, the Communication Specialist, team analyst and other internal staff as needed to enhance improvement efforts. •Contribute to project documentation. •Participate in educational events/conferences as needed to maintain the knowledge base required to support providers in their care transition improvement efforts. •Facilitate QI teams with internal and external customers to design and implement interventions to reach targeted goals. •Establish and maintain effective relationships with healthcare providers and related groups. •Participate in ISO activities as required. •Assist the IDIQ Director and other Task Order Leads and Task Managers in coordinating activities across the atom Alliance.
Short Description The Quality Improvement/HIT Advisor supports contract initiatives in the area of behavioral health through work with providers, stakeholders, and other agencies to assist in the achievement of contract/program deliverables. The QI/HIT-A fosters relationships between existing and newly identified partners to align activities and strategies for Medicare Beneficiaries. The QI/HIT-A provides guidance to other functional areas as directed and performs other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Behavioral Health (BH) Task Lead.
Education • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; education in a healthcare-related discipline preferred. • Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical/health care setting and/or behavioral health. • Minimum of one year health information technology application experience (physician office setting). • Facilitator experience preferred. • Educational presentation experience preferred. • Behavioral Health experience preferred. • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) Preferred. • Certified Professional in Electronic Health Records (CPEHR), Health Information Technology (CPHIT) or Health Information Exchange (CPHIW) Preferred.

Division Required: • A self-starter with the ability to function independently with minimal supervision, yet be able to work effectively in a team environment. • Knowledge of the healthcare system/environment. • Strong customer service orientation, for both internal and external customers. • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. • Local and regional travel is required. • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel). • Familiarity with medical terminology. • Must be able to lift boxes weighing 20-30 pounds. Preferred: • Demonstrated experience within the field of behavioral health. • Project Management Certification. • Basic knowledge of Medicare Rights and Responsibilities and covered services.
