Board Of Directors

Information & Quality Healthcare is governed by its Board of Directors, which is composed of 9 members. The board sets overall policy and direction and has ultimate oversight responsibility for the corporation. It is the board's responsibility to secure and motivate efficient management, develop directional policy and ensure accountability of the organization. The board is responsible for making final determinations on all major policies, budgetary matters, and other significant activities related to the ongoing operation of the corporation. The board is responsible for the hiring and evaluation of the chief executive officer.

Members of the Board of Directors include representatives from healthcare settings as well as consumers with non-healthcare backgrounds. Board members are elected by the membership and are announced at the next immediate board meeting following the election, and prior to the IQH Board of Directors meeting in May. Board members are appointed for three-year terms and may not serve more than two consecutive three-year terms. Terms are staggered so that approximately one-third of the members are appointed each year. Vacancies of unexpired terms may be filled by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
